I wanted to write this as a separate entry since it is a reflection on my thoughts lately...as Jacob gets older, I am starting to think about how this all affects Alexis and Aiden. How do they feel about Jacob? Are they jealous? sad? indifferent? Do they even understand that he has special needs? How will this affect them as they(and he) grow older?
I have been researching a little about siblings of special needs children and some of the things I have come across really make me think about the way that Alexis and Aiden are affected too. Sometimes the siblings get overlooked since it only indirectly affects them, but it really can take a toll on them as well and I want to make sure that we understand and try to help them through dealing with all of this too.
On the same note, I wonder how this will affect our marriage in the future..that might be a post for another day..
